We have been shoeing and doing remedial work for decades. Plenty of it is straightforward. A lot of it is not.
Feet with no sole to work with. Horses that come right for a week and then go back. Cracks that open up again every cycle. Feet that cannot take a nail where you need one. Horses in hard work that still need protection on their days off, or between visits, because a shoe on its own is not sorting it.
Those are the ones that pushed us. Some of what we use now we made ourselves. Some of it we tried on horse after horse and kept because it held up. Reading helped. Years of watching what actually changed the horse helped more. We dropped what failed and kept what worked.
That is what this shop is for. Boots, pads, thrush stuff and the bits we use in the yard. Nothing on here that we would not put on a horse ourselves.
Horses that still need the foot looked after on the days they are not shod, because a shoe alone was not sorting it. We tried things, dropped what failed, and kept what helped the horses the most.
